Women's Volleyball Sweeps Bethany

OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's volleyball team earned a dominant 3-0 sweep over Bethany College (25-23, 25-15, 25-20) on Saturday afternoon inside Wilson Field House. The Braves hit an impressive .319 as a team.

Set One | Ottawa 25, Bethany 23
Bethany jumped out to an early 11-5 lead behind a strong service run from Danairis Ortiz Reyes, but Ottawa regrouped quickly. Kira Cherry and Hollie Peters powered the offense, each recording key kills as the Braves rallied to tie the set at 17–17. After a timeout by Bethany, Ottawa's front line took over — blocks from Anja Kukic and Campbell Stark helped push the Braves ahead. Peters closed the frame with back-to-back kills to secure the 25–23 comeback win.

Set Two | Ottawa 25, Bethany 15
Ottawa carried its momentum into the second set, opening on a 5–1 run behind kills from Campbell Stark, Cherry, and Kukic. Setter Madison Holcomb spread the offense effectively, tallying 10 assists in the frame. The Braves' defense also tightened, forcing eight Bethany attack errors. Hollie Peters continued to shine, posting multiple kills late in the set as Ottawa cruised to a 25–15 victory.

Set Three | Ottawa 25, Bethany 20
Bethany battled early, taking a narrow 9–7 advantage before Ottawa responded with a 6–1 surge fueled by strong serving from Samantha Stahl and timely kills from Cherry. The Braves maintained their rhythm offensively, as Peters, Stark, and Holden each contributed key points down the stretch. Peters once again sealed the victory with the match-winning kill, giving Ottawa the 25–20 win and completing the sweep.

Match Leaders – Ottawa Ottawa finished with 49 kills on 113 attempts, committing just 13 errors for a team hitting percentage of .319. The Braves also held a 54–44 advantage in digs and outscored the Swedes 58–35 in total points.
