OTTAWA, Kan. - The Ottawa men's soccer team got back to their winning ways as they beat Friends 2-0 on Wednesday evening at AdventHealth Field.
After the first thirty minutes of scoreless action, Ottawa broke through in the 31st minute as Matias Mazieres converted after a flurry of Ottawa shots inside the goal area, the assist going to Simon Kindt. Ottawa doubled their lead in the 62nd minute as Arminas Gecas found Sam Hatswell.
Ottawa led total shots eleven to nine and shots on goal eight to five. David Martinez made five saves en route to his sixth clean sheet of the season.
Ottawa (10-1-6, 9-0-3 KCAC) returns to the field on Saturday, November 1 as they travel to Sterling, Kansas for their regular season finale at Sterling College. That game is scheduled to kick off at 2:30 PM.
