(21) Men’s Soccer Downs Sterling

STERLING, Kan. - The Ottawa men's soccer team ended their regular season with a win as they beat Sterling by a score of 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Ottawa struck early, as Felipe Padierna found Simon Kindt in the third minute. The Braves doubled their lead with a 39th minute goal by Daniel Raja, assisted by Alonso Basauri, and took a 2-0 lead into the break. Kindt once again scored quickly into the half, this time in the 49th minute and this time assisted by Jevan Purcell-Jackson.  The 68th minute became Basauri's time to score, once again assisted by Purcell-Jackson.

Ottawa led total shots 27 to 15 and shots on goal 16 to six. David Martinez made five saves en route to his seventh clean sheet of the season.

Ottawa finishes the regular season with an 11-1-6 overall record and a 10-0-3 conference record. This marks their first unbeaten conference record in their second KCAC stint and their first since 1981. They will play next in the KCAC Tournament, details on their opening matchup will be shared when they are released.
