OTTAWA, Kan. - The Ottawa men's soccer team booked their ticket to the KCAC Tournament Semifinals in come back fashion as they beat McPherson 2-1 in overtime on Tuesday evening at AdventHealth Field.
After a scoreless first half, McPherson broke through as Zane Sullivan redirected a corner by Sergio Najera. Ottawa had many opportunities but failed to convert until the 89th minute as
Antonio Natalucci tied the game. Just four minutes into the first golden goal overtime period.
Alonso Basauri's corner kick found the head of
Khalil Al Harthi for the game winning goal.
Ottawa led total shots 21 to five and shots on goal nine to four.
David Martinez made three saves in goal for Ottawa.
Ottawa (12-1-6, 10-0-3 KCAC) returns to the field on Friday, November 7 as they take on Kansas Wesleyan University at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas. That game is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 PM.
