The Braves are on a three game winning streak after defeating Avila University 37-0 last Saturday at AdventHealth Field. During its winning streak, Ottawa is outscoring its opponents 102-27. OU offense piled up 432 total yards. The Braves rushed for 293 yards on 54 carries, averaging 5.4 yards per attempt.

The shut out by Ottawa last Saturday was the OU's defense first since Oct. 1, 2016. Ottawa defeated Bethel College 10-0 in North Newton. The last time Ottawa shut out an opponent at home was on Oct. 31, 2015. The Braves defeated Southwestern College 17-0. 

Ottawa held the Eagles to 80 yards of offense last Saturday. This was the first time since Oct. 31, 2015 that OU has held an opponent to less than 100 yards of total offense. The Braves held Southwestern College to 95 yards of offense, winning the game 17-0. 

OU's defense held Avila to 13 yards rushing in the win last Saturday. The last time an opponent rushed for 100 yards or less was on Oct. 28, 2023 when Avila University rushed for 79 yards. Ottawa won the game 42-14. 

The Braves are averaging 361.4 yards of offense per game, 114.7 rushing and 246.7 passing. OU is scoring 26.6 points per game. Opponents are averaging 365.4 yards of offense per game, 171.4 rushing and 194 passing. They are scoring 28.8 points per game. 

Luke Edwards leads the Braves in passing. He is 197-335 through the air for 2,335 yards and has thrown 13 touchdowns. Edwards is completing 58.6 percent of his passes and has thrown eight interceptions. Anthony Powell is OU's leader in rushing with 440 yards. He has scored five rushing touchdowns and is averaging 4.2 yards per carry. Jayden Johnson is the team's leader in receptions (60) and receiving yards (758). He is averaging 75.8 receiving yards per carry and has three receiving touchdowns. De'Anthony Curtis leads the team with four receiving touchdowns. Ethan Yinger is OU's leader in tackles with 61. He has 3.5 tackles for loss, five pass break ups, one forced fumble, and one recovered fumble. Teagan Flynn leads the team in tackles for loss (12.5) and sacks (8.5). Donovan Martin and Elijah Hann lead OU in interceptions with six apiece. 

Ottawa is ranked 49th in the NAIA in scoring (266), 50th in points per game (26.6), 38th in total offense (3,614), 49th in yards per game (361.4), 22nd in passing yards (2,467), 30th in passing yards per game (246.7), 33rd in rushing attempts (343), 26th in rushing touchdowns (19), 35th in first downs (209), 29th in rushing first downs (89), 34th in passing first downs (104), 46th in first downs per game (20l9), 38th in third down conversion percentage (.400), 23rd in fourth down pecentage (.590), 29th in kick return average (22.6), fifth in field goals (12-18), 39th in field goal percentage (.667), 50th in average per punt (35.9), fourth in fumbles recovered (10), and 20th in sacks (25). 

Saturday is the 76th game between Ottawa University and Bethel College. Ottawa leads the series 56-17-2 but the Threshers are 4-1 in the last five games between the two teams. The first game between the two teams happened on Oct. 4, 1929 in Ottawa. The Braves won the game 14-0. Ottawa has lost three straight at home against Bethel. The last time the Braves defeated the Threshers in Ottawa was on Oct. 7, 2017. OU won the game 34-10. The Braves are 27-8-2 all-time against Bethel in Ottawa. 

Bethel College is 3-7 overall and 1-3 in KCAC Kessinger Division play. The Threshers enter Saturday's final coming off a 51-0 loss to Evangel University last Saturday in Springfield, Mo. The Threshers are 1-4 on the road this season. 

The Threshers are averaging 270.1 yards of offense per game, 159.7 yards passing and 110.4 yards rushing. Bethel is scoring 14.9 points per game. Opponents are scoring 39.4 points per game and are averaging 416.1 yards of offense per game, 234.1 yards rushing and 182 yards passing. 

Houston Herrin leads the Threshers in passing. He is 98-150 through the air for 1,010 yards and 11 touchdowns. Herrin is completing 65.3 percent of his passes and has thrown seven interceptions. He also leads the team in rushing with 383 yards on 71 attempts, an average of 5.4 yards per carry. Herrin has scored four rushing touchdowns. Trevon Madison is the team's leader in receptions (44) and receiving yards (459). He has six receiving touchdowns and is averaging 45.9 receiving yards per game. Amerdid Marial is BC's leader in tackles with 68. He has nine tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, four pass break ups, two forced fumbles, and one blocked kick. Frank Driscoll leads Bethel in sacks with six. 

Bethel is ranked 49th in the NAIA in Comp-Att-Int (153-257-15), 22nd in rushing attempts (359), 38th in 4th-down conversions (11-25), 16th in punts (no.yards) (64-1896), 40th in red zone touchdowns percentage (.670), eighth in fumbles-lost (20-9), 46th in penalties (61), and 40th in penalty yards (561).
