OTTAWA, Kan. — TheOttawa University men's basketball team fell 84–69 to McPherson College on Saturday afternoon inside Wilson Field House.
First Half
McPherson set the tone early with efficient shooting and strong guard play, building a 51–38 lead at halftime. Ottawa battled to keep pace behind offensive rebounding from
Landyn Tyler and timely scoring from
Rich Martelly and
Micah Willis. However, the Bulldogs' perimeter shooting—especially from Korbin Gunn and Tarrance Austin—created separation as the half progressed.
Second Half
Ottawa responded defensively after the break, limiting McPherson to 33 second-half points.
Elijah Mason provided a major spark off the bench, scoring 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while
Jackson Harding attacked the rim consistently and converted at the free throw line. Although the Braves won the rebounding battle and improved their defensive pressure, turnovers and key McPherson buckets halted any momentum toward a comeback.
