Men's Soccer Edges (6) Lindsay Wilson in the Second Round of the NAIA National Tournament

COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Ottawa University men's soccer team secured a gritty 1–0 win over (6) Lindsey Wilson University on Saturday, using a late strike from Jevan Purcell-Jackson to claim the NAIA National Tournament Second Round victory.

Both teams battled through a physical and defensive first half, combining for limited chances. Ottawa generated early pressure with attempts from Sam Hatswell (3:24), Simon Kindt (4:40), and Antonio Natalucci (10:51), but none found the target. Lindsey Wilson responded with shots from Dominic Ayella, including a dangerous look in the 16th minute that was handled by keeper David Martinez.

The defenses continued to hold firm after halftime. Martinez kept the match level with key saves on Ayella in the 77th and 87th minutes, while Ottawa continued to push forward. Alonso Basauri forced a save in the 60th minute, and Natalucci added another on-frame attempt in the 70th minute.

The breakthrough arrived in the 84th minute. After connecting through midfield, Basauri slid a pass to Jevan Purcell-Jackson, who buried the finish for his 12th goal of the season, giving Ottawa the decisive 1–0 lead.

The Braves absorbed late pressure from Lindsey Wilson— including two shots from Paseka Maile—before closing out the road victory.
