Saint Mary (Kan.) and Central Methodist (Mo.) are tied at No. 17 as the regular season gets underway. Avila (Mo.), which climbed into the top 20 after receiving votes in the preseason rating, is tied at No. 20 with Campbellsville (Ky.).
