OTTAWA, Kan. – The #13 Ottawa women's wrestling team will finish the first part of the 2025-26 season at the Avila Open on Sunday in Kansas City, Missouri.

At the Doane Open on December 5^th, Sigrun Metzger competed in the 117lb weight class elite division and won two matches by falls. Aileen Lester won five matches in the 138lb elite division. In the 145lb elite division, Livia Swift won two matches. Justice Thomas won one match in the 160lb elite. Ciera Hutton-Spieker took home second place in the 180lb weight division elite, Hutton-Spieker won two matches by falls. Siara Arrington went 3-1 on the day in the 180lb weight class elite division and secured third place.
Sydnee Baldwin wrestled in the 110lb weight class and earned fourth place, Baldwin went 5-2 at the Open. Shae Salinas won three matches in the 117lb weight division. Lainey Farley won one match in the 138lb weight division. Ryan Bretthauer won one match in the 180lb weight class.

Ottawa remains at #13 in the latest NAIA Top 20 Poll. Aynsley Fink moves up to sixth overall in the 103lb weight division. Sigrun Metzger and Addison Saporito are ranked in the 117lb weight class, Metzger is 16^th and Saporito is 18^th. Peyton Hand is 13^th in the 124lb weight division. Aileen Lester is 10^th in the 138lb weight class. Ciera Hutton-Spieker and Siara Arrington are ranked in the 180lb weight division, Hutton-Spieker is ninth and Arrington is 13^th. In the 207lb, Kena Leonard is 17^th and Faith Spicer is 19^th.

At the Eagle Duals in 2024, Ottawa faced Wayland Baptist, Indian Hills CC and Avila.
Ottawa vs. Wayland Baptist – W, 25-21
Aynsley Fink started the dual with a fall victory over Alissa Cowing in the 110lb weight division. Peyton Hand won an 8-5 decision over Tess Barnett in the 124lb weight division. In the 131lb, Camryn Mather secured a fall win over Mattison Goss. Livia Swift defeated Aspen DeHerrera on a technical fall in the 138lb weight class. Leilani Caamal earned a 5-4 decision win against Avery Shinkle in the 145lb.
Ottawa vs. Indian Hills CC – L, 23-21
Aynsley Fink secured a win in the 110lb weight class on a forfeit. Peyton Hand won a 6-0 decision match against Angelica Vicente in the 124lb weight division. Haley Flores took down Sarah Lewis in the 160lb weight division on a fall. Faith Spicer won by forfeit in the 207lb weight class.

Ottawa vs. Avila – W, 41-5
Aynsley Fink and Shae Salinas won their matches by falls, Fink in the 110lb weight class and Salinas in the 117lb weight division. Peyton Hand her matche by technical falls in their respective weight divisions, Hand in the 124lb and Mather in the 131lb. Mikinlee Smith pinned Andrea Uribe in the 138lb weight division. In the 145lb weight class, Kaydence Bonewell defeated Jaclyn Riedinger on a 4-0 decision. Haley Flores, Ciera Hutton-Spieker and Faith Spicer each won by forfeit in the final matches
