Men's Basketball and Culver-Stockton Play in WFH on Wednesday

The Braves are 7-5 overall, 4-3 in the KCAC, and 2-5 in Wilson Field House season. The Braves fell 105-44 in an exhibition game to William Jewell College on Tuesday night in Liberty, Mo. 

Through 12 games this season, Ottawa is averaging 79.3 points, 36 rebounds, and 11.3 assists per game. OU is shooting 45.9 percent from the floor, 38.5 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 72.7 percent from the free throw line. 

Rich Martelly leads OU in scoring (14.9), Jackson Harding is Ottawa's leader in rebounding (6.4), Landyn Tyler leads the Braves in assists (2.6), Kuol Reech is the team's leader in blocks (0.8), and Martelly is Ottawa's leader in steals (1.7) per game. 

Wednesday is Ottawa's sixth and last non-conference game this season. The Braves are 3-2 in non-conference games winning their first three before losing two straight to William Woods University (84-68) on Nov. 7 and Dordt University (112-85) on Nov. 8. 

Ottawa is ranked 19th in the NAIA in 3-pt field goal percentage (.385), 43rd in free throws made per game (16.4), and 35th in personal fouls per game (15.3). 

OU is 2-5 inside of Wilson Field House this season. The Braves are scoring 75.6 points per game and shooting 45.7 percent from the floor, 37.3 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 74.8 percent from the free throw line. Opponents are scoring 81.9 points per game and shooting 48 percent from the floor, 37.7 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 85.1 percent from the free throw line. 

At home this season, Ottawa has four players scoring in double figures: Rich Martelly 14.7, Landyn Tyler 12.0, Micah Willis 11.4, Jackson Harding 10.3. Elijah Mason is shooting 57.1 percent (20-for-35) from the floor at home this season. 

Wednesday is the 11th meeting between Ottawa University and Culver-Stockton College. Ottawa leads the series 7-3 and the Braves have won two straight. OU won the contest last season on Nov. 6, 2024 in Canton, Mo., 79-77. That game was the first time the two teams had played against each other since Feb. 20, 1982. Ottawa is 4-1 against the Wildcats inside of Wilson Field House. Ottawa has won three straight at home against Culver-Stockton. The Braves last loss to the Wildcats inside of Wilson Field House was on Jan. 4, 1975, 85-84. The first ever meeting between Ottawa and Culver-Stockton was on Dec. 29, 1949 at the College of Emporia Tournament in Emporia, Kan. C-SC won the game 59-56. 

Culver-Stockton College is 3-10 overall and 0-6 in the Heart. The Wildcats are 2-5 on the road this season and enter Wednesday's game coming off an 85-79 loss to Peru State College on Dec. 13 in Peru, Neb. 

Through 13 games this season, Culver-Stockton is averaging 75.4 points, 34.8 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game. The Wildcats are shooting 45.5 percent from the floor, 31.8 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 69.6 percent from the free throw line. 

Travis Green III leads C-SC in scoring (14.9). Alex Jackson IV is the team's leader in rebounding (6.7) and blocks (0.5) per game. Ramzi Salem leads the team in assists (2.0) and Kamren Wires is Culver-Stockton's leader in steals (1.5) per game. 

Culver-Stockton is ranked 34th in the NAIA in opponents offensive rebounds per game (8.5), 50th in opponent personal fouls per game (18.6), and 46th in offensive efficiency (1.087). 

In C-SC's seven road games, the Wildcats are averaging 74.6 points per game and shooting 47.3 percent from the floor, 35.5 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 68.2 percent from the free throw line.
