SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Ottawa University softball team spilt with no. 1 Our Lady of the Lake University on Tuesday afternoon. The Braves were defeated 11-3 in five innings in game one but rebounded to take game two, 6-5. The win over OLLU is OU's first win over a NAIA team ranked no. 1 in program history.
Game One
OLLU scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 4-0 lead. Ottawa cut into the Saint lead with a run in the top of the second inning.
Dev Medina singled to short and advanced to second on a single to left by
Mallory Dunn.
Megan Kennedy moved Medina to third with a fielder's choice to second. Medina was able to score from third on a passed ball and the OU trailed 4-1.
The Saints answered with five runs in the bottom of the second, taking a 9-1 lead over the Braves. Ottawa earned two of those runs back in the top of the third.

Katie Enneking and
Emma Melvin put runners on second and third.
Elizabeth Palmer entered the game as a pinch runner for Melvin. Medina put the ball in play, scoring Enneking and OU was down 9-2. Dunn's ground out to the pitcher scored Palmer and the Braves trailed 9-3.
In the bottom of the fourth, OLLU pushed two more runs across home plate to take an 11-3 lead over the Braves. Ottawa wasn't able to rally and the Saints took the 11-3 victory.

Game Two
Our Lady of the Lake scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 2-0 lead. Ottawa tied the game in the top of the fifth inning.
Zoe Butts walked.
Emma Melvin hit a home run to right field, to tie the game at 2-2.
OLLU answered with two runs in the bottom of the fifth to retake the lead, 4-2. In the bottom of the sixth, the Saints scored one more run to extend their lead to 5-2.
The Braves rallied in the top of the seventh.
Megan Kohl, in the game as a pinch hitter for Alex Genty, walked and Genty reentered the game.
Katie Enneking doubled to center, scoring Genty and OU was down 5-3. Melvin walked and Medina entered as a pinch runner for Melvin. A walk by
Elizabeth Palmer loaded the bases for the Braves.
Megan Kennedy's single to right scored Enneking and Medina to tie the game, 5-5.
Macy Roever's infield single to third scored Palmer, giving the Braves a 6-5 lead.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Saints had a base runner reach second. But
Cesara Roque got the fly out and the Braves took the 6-5 victory.
