OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's flag football team hosted the Midwest Spring Kickoff Classic on Sunday at AdventHealth Field. The Braves went 3-0 in the classic with victories over Baker University (34-0), Kansas Wesleyan University (28-0), and Midland University (34-0).
Madysen Carrera and
Alyssa Linkous' 60 yard touchdown pass and catch in the win over Midland is fifth in the OU record book for longest touchdown pass in a game.
Baker University W, 34-0
The Braves struck first taking a 6-0 lead at the 5:29 mark in the first quarter.
Madysen Carrera threw a three yard touchdown pass to
Marley Spielberg.
Ottawa increased its lead in the second quarter with two touchdown passes from Carrera. She completed the first to
Jazlyn Camacho and the second to
Alyssa Linkous to give the Braves a 22-0 lead.
In the third Carrera threw her fourth touchdown pass of the day and her second to Camacho to give the Braves a 28-0 lead. Ottawa recorded this fifth touchdown of the game with an 11 yard touchdown pass from
Olivia Cadiz to
Alyssa Gillespie and the Braves took the 34-0 victory.

Jazlyn Camacho. The extra point attempt was good and the Braves led 7-0
with 4:40 left in the second quarter. Ottawa extended its lead over the Coyotes right before the half. Carrera completed a nine yard touchdown pass to
Alyssa Linkous to give the Braves a 14-0 lead.
In the third, Ottawa increased its lead over the Coyotes. Carrera found Camacho for a second time in the game, giving Ottawa a 21-0 lead. The Braves scored one more touchdown, this one with 8:14 to go in the fourth quarter. Carrera and Linkous connected for a second time, this one from 17 yards out and the Braves took the lead and the game 28-0.

Madysen Carrera thew a 60 yard touchdown pass to
Alyssa Linkous. The PAT attempt was good and OU had a 7-0 lead. Ottawa increased its lead over the Warriors with 1:47 to go in the first. Carrera threw a 14 yard touchdown pass to
Marley Spielberg. The extra point attempt was no good and the Braves had a 13-0 lead.
The Braves scored their third touchdown of the game with 8:31 left in the first half. Carrera threw a 14 yard touchdown pass to Linkous. The extra point was good and the Braves had a 20-0 lead. OU scored one more time in the first half. Carrera connected with
Jaida Bayron for a six yard touchdown pass and after the extra point, OU had a 27-0 lead.
Ottawa scored one more touchdown in the game.
Olivia Cadiz threw a five yard touchdown pass to
Alyssa Gillespie. The extra point attempt by
Addison Orsborn was good and the Braves took the 34-0 victory.
