OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's volleyball team was defeated 3-1 by (12) Missouri Valley College in the Mabee Center on Tuesday night.
How it Happened
- Ottawa jumped out to a 9-3 lead over Missouri Valley in set one. A kill by Petar Lazic gave OU a 21-12 lead. The Braves never relinquished their lead, taking the 25-19 victory.
- The Braves fell behind 7-4 to MVC in set two. A kill by Akeil Williams put the Braves within 9-6. Ottawa chipped away at the Viking lead and after a kill by Leo Betin, the Braves had a 17-16 lead. MVC responded with a 8-2 run to take a 24-19 lead over the Braves. Ottawa was not able to rally and the Vikings took the 25-20 victory.
- Missouri Valley had a 12-6 lead over the Braves in set three. Ottawa was not able to recover from its slow start and the Vikings took the 25-16 victory.
- In set four, a kill by Marko Zolnjan tied the set at 19 all. The Vikings answered by scoring four straight points, taking a 23-19 lead over the Braves. Ottawa was not able to rally and MVC took the 25-20 victory.
