CANTON, Mo. – The Ottawa University men's volleyball team got back on the winning track with a 3-0; 25-12, 25-17, 25-20; victory over Culver-Stockton College on Friday night.
How it Happened
- Ottawa took an early 5-1 lead over Culver-Stockton in set one. A kill and a block by Petar Lazic gave OU a 9-3 lead. A Kadeem Morris' kill increased the Brave lead to 19-7. The Wildcats didn't threaten the Brave lead, and OU took the 25-12 victory.
- The Braves scored the first six point of set two. A kill by Akeil Williams gave the Braves an 8-4 lead. Ottawa increased its lead to 18-11 on a Marton Zarka service ace. The Braves held the Wildcats in check for the remainder of the set, taking the 25-17 victory.
- Culver-Stockton took an early 7-4 lead over the Braves in set three. Ottawa rallied and after two straight kills by Macort Pickup, OU had a 14-12 lead. The Braves continued to hold their lead and after a kill by Marko Zolnjan, Ottawa had a 20-17 advantage over Culver-Stockton. The Wildcats were unable to stage a comeback and Ottawa took the 25-20 victory.
