Indoor Track & Field Ends Regular Season at Bearcat Invite

Maryville, MO. - The OU track and field teams competed in their final regular season meet at Northwest Missouri State on Saturday, and amidst a slew of season and personal best performances, Jordyn Weems stole the show.
She started the day by running a season-best time of 8 seconds flat in the 60 meter dash. Then came the long jump, where she left no doubt who the best longer jumper in OU history is, when she launched herself 5.75 meters (18 feet 10 inches), annihilating her previous school record of 5.58meters (18 feet 3.75 inches) set last year. The mark currently ranks her #5 in the NAIA.

Weems returned to the track a few hours later and set a new indoor personal best time of 25.67 in the 200m dash. Her final event of the day was the 4x400m relay, where she led the team to a season-best time of 3:59.32, just .32 seconds from qualifying for nationals, and a third-place finish.

Other notable Braves performances include:
  • JahNisha Campbell had personal records in both the 60m and long jump.
  • Cameron Jackson ran a season-best time in the 60m.
