Ottawa, KAN. - The Ottawa women's lacrosse team dropped another non-conference game as they were defeated by (4) Cumberlands by a score of 19-6 on Wednesday afternoon at AdventHealth Field.
The game started tight, with Cumberlands leading 4-3 after the first period. The Patriots extended their lead with a 4-2 second quarter to take an 8-5 halftime lead. The second half was all Cumberlands, who secured their victory with 8-0 and 3-1 third and fourth quarters.
Brianna Valadao and
Ashlyn Lopez led Ottawa with three goals each. Valadao,
Rilee Barnett, and
KaiAnna Senne made one assist each.
Shelby Bearden made six saves in goal.
Ottawa (4-5, 3-0 HAAC) returns to the field on Saturday, March 22 as they travel to the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy in St. Louis. That game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM.
