St. Louis, MO. - The Ottawa women's lacrosse team got back in the win column as they defeated UHSP by a score of 11-9 on Saturday afternoon.

The game was a defensive slugfest early on, with Ottawa leading 4-2 after the first quarter. The Braves scored the only goal of the second quarter to extend their lead to 5-2. After Ottawa scored the first two goals in the third quarter, UHSP scored three of the next four to cut Ottawa's lead to 2. UHSP and Ottawa traded goals to start the fourth quarter, and the Eutectics scored two goals to tie the game up at nine apiece. Rilee Barnett would score with one minute left to take the lead, and Brianna Valadao scored with two seconds left to extend it.

Rilee Barnett led Ottawa with four goals, Makayla Mason scored three. Brianna Valadao scored two goals, Isabella Pagliei and Faith Ruoff scored one each. Valadao made two assists, Pagliei, KaiAnna Senne, Ashlyn Lopez, and Liv Staberg scored one each. Shelby Bearden made ten saves in goal for the Braves.

Ottawa (5-5, 4-0 HAAC) returns to the field on Wednesday, March 26 as they host (2) Benedictine College at AdventHealth Field. That game is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.
