SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Ottawa University softball team swept (RV) Evangel University on Thursday afternoon. The Braves won game one 7-4 and took game two in six innings, 12-4.
Game One
The Braves broke the scoreless tie in the top of the third inning.
Macy Roever led off the inning with a bunt single.
Kara Hafenstine's sacrifice bunt moved Roever to third.
Addison Spencer scored Roever with a single down the left field line and OU led 1-0.
Katie Enneking singled to short and Spencer moved to second.
Mallory Dunn's single to right scored both Spencer and Enneking, increasing the OU lead to 3-0.
Evangel cut into OU's lead in the bottom of the third with a run, 3-1. After a scoreless fourth and fifth inning by both teams, Ottawa increased its lead in the top of the sixth.
Dunn walked and then moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Davanie Medina. Alex Genty walked, giving OU runners on first and second. Roever scored both with a home run to right field and the Braves had a 6-1 lead.
Evangel answered with three runs of its own in the bottom of the sixth to cut OU's lead to 6-4. The Braves were able to put an insurance run on the board in the top of the seventh.
Spencer walked and
Natalyn Losoya entered the game as a pinch runner. She stole second, giving the Braves a runner in scoring position.
Emma Melvin's infield single moved Losoya 60 feet from home. Dunn singled to right, scoring Losoya and the Braves had a 7-4 lead.
In the bottom of the seventh it was three up and three down for the Brave defense and OU took the 7-4 victory.

Game Two
Ottawa jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning.
Kara Hafenstine led the Braves with an infield single. She stole second, giving the Braves a runner in scoring position.
Addison Spencer walked and both moved up a base with a passed ball.
Mallory Dunn scored Hafenstine with a ground out and OU led 1-0.
Ottawa increased its lead with a single up the middle by
Emma Melvin. Her hit scored Spencer, giving the Braves a 2-0 lead. Ottawa scored its final run of the inning on a single to center by Alex Genty. Melvin scored from third and the Braves had a 3-0 lead.
In the top of the second inning the Braves batted around, scoring six runs on five hits to take a 9-0 lead over Evangel. The Valor scored one run in the bottom of the second, one in the bottom of the third and one in the bottom of the fourth to cut into the Brave lead 9-3. After a scoreless fifth inning, Ottawa extended its lead in the top of the sixth.
Roever reached first on a bunt single. Hafenstine was hit by a pitch and OU had two one and no one out. Roever stole second and then advanced to home on a throwing error by the EU catcher. Hafenstine followed, scoring on the EU miscue and the Braves had a 11-3 lead. Spencer walked and
Natalyn Losoya entered the game as a pinch runner.
Mallory Dunn doubled to left-center, moving Losoya to third.
Elizabeth Palmer put the ball in play and Losoya scored on the fielder's choice, giving OU a 12-3 lead.
Evangel scored one run in the bottom of the sixth but it was not enough to extend the game into the seventh and the Braves took the 12-4 victory.
