OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University softball team fell to Oklahoma Wesleyan University on Tuesday afternoon at Alumni Park. The Braves were defeated in eight innings, 5-1, in game one and 6-5 in game two.
Game One
OKWU took a 1-0 lead over the Braves in the top of the first inning. Ottawa tied the game in the bottom of the third.
Macy Roever reached first on a bunt single and reached third on a wild throw by the Eagle third baseman.
Addison Spencer's single to center scored Roever and the game was tied, 1-1.
After four scoreless innings, OKWU took the lead in the top of the eighth with four runs, 5-1. Ottawa was unable to answer in the bottom of the eighth and the Eagles took the 5-1 victory.

Game Two
The Braves struck first, taking the lead in the bottom of the second inning.
Emma Melvin singled to center and moved to second on a single to right by Davanie Medina. An error by the OKWU right fielder moved Melvin to third.
Zoe Butts scored her with a single to left and OU led 1-0.
OKWU responded with four runs in the top of the third to take a 4-1 lead. Ottawa cut into the Eagle lead in the bottom of the third.
Kara Hafenstine reached first on a walk.
Macy Roever's sacrifice bunt moved Hafenstine to second.
Addison Spencer advanced Hafenstine 60 feet from home with a ground out to first. Melvin scored Hafenstine with a single to center and OU was down 4-2.
The Eagles answered with a run in the top of the fourth to increase their lead to 5-2. Ottawa cut into the OKWU lead in the bottom of the fifth. Melvin scored Roever with a double to right to cut the deficit to 5-3.
Camryn Lenz, who was pinch running for Melvin, crossed home plate on a single to right by Medina and OU was down 5-4.
In the top of the sixth, OKWU scored a run to increase its lead to 6-4. Ottawa cut into the Oklahoma Wesleyan lead with a run in the bottom of the sixth. Alex Genty doubled to left to lead off the inning for the Braves.
Megan Kennedy moved her to third with a sacrifice bunt.
Mallory Dunn's infield single scored Genty and the Braves were within 6-5.
In the bottom of the seventh, Medina reached first on a walk. OU was unable to score her to force extra innings and OKWU took the 6-5 victory.
