OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's volleyball team defeated Culver-Stockton College 3-0; 25-17, 25-16, 25-16; on Friday night in the Mabee Center.
How it Happened
- Culver-Stockton took a 6-5 lead over the Braves in set two. Ottawa scored the next two points, taking a 7-6 lead on a kill by Macort Pickup. OU continued to hold its lead and increased it to 17-10 on a block by Marko Zolnjan and Akeil Williams. The Wildcats never threatened the Brave lead, and OU took the 25-17 victory.
- The Braves scored the first four points of set two. Two kills by Petar Lazic and a CSC attacking error gave OU an 11-7 lead. The Wildcats rallied and cut the Brave lead to 15-13. Ottawa answered with an 8-2 run, taking a 23-15 lead on a Nazmi Bayoglu service ace. Culver-Stockton scored the next point to cut OU's lead to 23-16. Ottawa responded by scoring the next two points, taking the 25-16 victory.
- Ottawa opened set three with a 7-5 lead over CSC. OU increased its lead to 10-6 on a block by Kadeem Morris and Lazic. The Braves held Culver-Stockton in check for the remainder of the set, taking the 25-16 victory.
