Ottawa, KAN. - The Ottawa women's lacrosse team kept their season going as they defeated UHSP by a score of 19-4 in the HAAC Tournament Quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon.
UHSP took the lead early with the first two goals of the game, but Ottawa took that lead back and never surrendered it with five straight goals. By the end of the first period, the Braves were up five goals to three. The second and third quarters were dominated by Ottawa, scoring six goals in each and allowing none. In the fourth quarter, the Braves outscored UHSP two goals to one to solidify their victory.
Rilee Barnett led Ottawa with six goals,
Ashlyn Lopez scored four.
Makayla Mason and
Isabella Pagliei scored three goals each,
KaiAnna Senne scored two,
Faith Ruoff scored one. Senne and
Brianna Valadao made two assists each, Mason and Pagliei made one apiece.
Shelby Bearden made three saves in goal en route to a win,
Eliza White made one.
Ottawa (8-8, 6-2 HAAC) returns to the field on Wednesday, April 16 as they travel to St. Louis, Missouri for the HAAC Tournament Semifinals against Missouri Baptist University. That game is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.
