Wichita, KAN. - The Ottawa men's and women's track and field teams competed throughout the weekend at the KT Woodman Classic held at the historic Cessna Stadium at Wichita State. It was the first meet this season that temperatures were conducive to running, jumping, and throwing, but the Kansas wind seemed to have other ideas as it consistently made things difficult on both days of competition.
The highlight of the meet was one that has become familiar over the last two seasons, as the women's 4x400m relay team broke the school record and achieved an NAIA "B" national championship qualifying time.

Tanzania Barnes, and
Jah-Nisha Campbell combined to run a time of 3:53.17, breaking the record of 3:53.26 set 11 months ago by
Jah-Nisha Campbell,
Anaya Vil,
Jordyn Weems, and
JayOnna Perry. Their time currently ranks 6th in the NAIA.
Aba Sam, who has also become familiar on the OU record board, had her best performance yet in the triple jump--bounding out to what would have been an NAIA-leading mark of 12.14 meters--if not for the tailwind being over the legal limit of 4 meters per second. It is, however, the longest jump in OU history.

The Braves will be back in action this upcoming weekend when many of them will get the chance to compete in the prestigious KU Relays at Kansas University April 17th-19th.
