KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Ottawa (Kan.) senior JayOnna Perry is the season's first Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week in the 2026 season, winning a pair of individual events and a relay for the Braves last week at the Spire Team Challenge, hosted by Saint Mary (Kan.).
She broke two individual Ottawa records, winning the 100-meter hurdles in 14.03 seconds and the 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.44, winning both while hitting a B standard in the 100-meter hurdles and an A standard in the 400-meter hurdles.
The Grain Valley, Mo., native was also part of an A standard in the 4X100-meter relay, winning the event and setting a new OU record in 46.04 seconds.
The Braves return to the early portion of their 2026 Outdoor Track & Field schedule Friday, at Emporia State.
