Women's Lacrosse Defeats Culver-Stockton

Ottawa, KAN. -  The Ottawa women's lacrosse team finished the home portion of their schedule with a win as they took down Culver-Stockton by a score of 14-9 on Sunday afternoon at AdventHealth Field.

The first quarter was more defensively focused, as Culver-Stockton scored the first two goals of the frame and Ottawa the last. In the second quarter, Ottawa outscored the Wildcats 6-3 to take a 7-5 lead going into halftime. Culver-Stockton tied the game back up at seven with the first two goals of the second half, but the Braves got the lead back to two by the third quarters' end. Ottawa extended their lead with a 5-2 fourth quarter.

Rilee Barnett, Makayla Mason, and Ashlyn Lopez led Ottawa with three goals each. Brianna Valadao scored two, Lilliana Lopez, KaiAnna Senna, and Isabella Pagliei scored one each. Barnett and Valadao made two assists each, Senne made one. Eliza White made 11 saves in goal en route to a win.

Ottawa (7-7, 6-1 HAAC) returns to the field on Wednesday, April 9 as they travel to St. Louis, Missouri for a game at Missouri Baptist University. That game is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.
