St. Louis, MO. - The Ottawa women's lacrosse team closed out their regular season with a loss as they were defeated by (8) Missouri Baptist by a score of 25-16 on Wednesday afternoon.
The game started tight, with Missouri Baptist leading 6-5 after the first quarter, and 10-8 at halftime. The third quarter made all the difference, as the Spartans outscored Ottawa 10-3, before maintaining their lead with a 5-5 fourth quarter.
Rilee Barnett led Ottawa with six goals,
Ashlyn Lopez scored four.
Makayla Mason and
KaiAnna Senne scored two goals each,
Curstin Brown and
Faith Ruoff scored one apiece. Barnett made three assists, Senne made two. Ruoff and Valadao made one assist each.
Eliza White made 4 saves in goal,
Shelby Bearden made four.
Ottawa (7-8, 6-2 HAAC) returns to the field next in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament, which will begin on Saturday, April 12. Location, time, and opponent are to be determined and will be announced at a later date.
