MARSHALL, Mo. – The Ottawa University men's volleyball team fell 3-1; 22-25, 21-25, 25-23, 22-25 to (3) Missouri Valley College on Tuesday evening in the regular season finale.
How it Happened
- MVC took the early lead in set one, 6-3. The Vikings increased their lead to 14-7 over the Braves. Ottawa chipped away at the Missouri Valley lead and after a block by Macort Pickup and Akeil Williams, the Braves were within 24-22. Ottawa, however, was unable to complete the comeback. Missouri Valley scored the next point, taking the 25-22 victory.
- A block by Horia Filpisan and Williams gave the Braves a 6-4 lead in set two. MVC rallied, taking a 15-12 lead over the Braves. Ottawa did not go away and tied the set at 17 all on a kill by Petar Lazic. The Vikings answered by scoring the next five points, taking a 22-17 lead. Ottawa was unable to rally and MVC took the 25-21 victory.
- Ottawa took an early 4-2 lead over Missouri Valley in set three. A MVC attacking error gave the Braves a 12-10 lead over MVC. Missouri Valley tried to rally but OU was able to close out the set, taking the 25-23 victory.
- In set four the Braves fell behind early to the Vikings. Ottawa was unable to stage a comeback, falling 25-22.

The Braves (16-12) are the eighth seed in the Heart Tournament. The Braves will travel to no. 1 seeded, Missouri Valley College, on Saturday, April 12 for the Heart Tournament Quarterfinals. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
