Women’s Soccer Ties Baker

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The Ottawa women's soccer team earned their first result of the season as they tied Baker by a score of 2-2 on Friday evening.

Ottawa started the scoring early, with Liv Staberg netting her first goal of the season in the second minute. Peyton Hack followed that goal up with one of her own in the 16th minute, giving Ottawa a 2-0 halftime lead. However, Baker scored goals in the 58th in the 63rd minute to salvage a tie.

Baker led total shots and shots on goal 11 to 7 and 8 to 6, respectively. Makena Tapia made six saves in her first collegiate complete game.

Ottawa (0-1-1, 0-0-0 KCAC) returns to the field on Saturday, September 6 as they travel to Hastings College for a 5:30 PM game.
