DES MOINES, Iowa - The Ottawa men's soccer team tasted defeat for the first time in 2025 as they dropped a non-conference match to Grand View by a score of 4-0 on Monday afternoon in Des Moines.

After a small deadlock, Grand View broke through in the 20th minute with their first goal of the game, then extended their lead in the 35th minute to take a 2-0 halftime lead. The Vikings scored the same amount in the second half, netting 69th and 82nd minute goals.

Grand View led both total shots and shots on goal by margins of 18 to 11 and 11 to two. Nicolo Cinelli made six saves in his season debut.

Ottawa (1-1-2, 0-0-0 KCAC) returns to the field on Saturday, September 13 as they close out their non-conference slate in Fremont, Nebraska at Midland University. That game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM.
