The Braves are 2-2 overall and had their two game winning streak snapped with a 61-10 loss to no. 20 Southwestern College at AdventHealth Field on Saturday afternoon. The Moundbuilders piled up 651 yards of total offense, including 425 through the air, while Ottawa was held to 268 total yards and shut out in the second half.

Ottawa is averaging 354.8 yards of offense, 113 yards rushing and 241.8 yards passing. The Braves are scoring 26.5 points per game. Opponents are scoring 33.8 points per game and average 445 yards of offense, 659 yards rushing and 280.3 yards passing. 

Luke Edwards is OU's leader in passing with 939 yards and four touchdowns. He is 73-for-124 through the air, completing 58.9 percent of his passes and averaging 234.8 yards through the air per game. Anthony Powell leads Ottawa in rushing with 188 yards on 40 attempts. He is averaging 4.7 yard per carry and has two rushing touchdowns. De'Anthony Curtis is the team's leader in receptions (21) and receiving yards (387). He has three touchdown receptions and is averaging 96.8 receiving yards per game. 

Ethan Yinger is the team's leader in tackles with 28. He has two tackles for loss and one pass break up. Brandon Doles is second on the team in tackles wiht 20. He has five tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two pass break ups, and one recovered fumble. Teagan Flynn leads the Braves in sacks with seven and Jaden Thatcher is OU's leader in pass break ups with four. 

Ottawa is ranked 31st in the NAIA in scoring (106), 43rd in points per game (26.5), 26th in total offense 1,419), 48th in yards per game (354.8), 18th in passing yards (967), 31st in passing yards per game (241.8), 18th in rushing attempts (137), 23rd in rushing touchdowns (7), 27th in first downs (74), 34th in average per punt (37.0), eighth in fumbles recovered (4), 31st tackles (233), and third in sacks (16).

Saturday is the 91st game between Ottawa University and McPherson College. Ottawa leads the series 61-29 and McPherson is on a four game winning streak against the Braves. OU has a road record of 28-18 against McPherson and the Bulldogs have won four straight in McPherson against the Ottawa. The last time Ottawa won on the road in McPherson was on Oct. 10, 2015. OU won the game 58-0. The first game between Ottawa and McPherson was on Oct. 18, 1929 in McPerson. The Bulldogs on the game 21-0.

McPherson College has started the season 4-0 for the first times since 2010. That season the Bulldogs won the KCAC Championship and finished the year with a record of 10-1. That season ended with a 38-14 loss to no. 12 McKendree University in the NAIA Football Championship Series Opening Round.  The Bulldogs are receiving votes in the latest NAIA Football Coaches Poll.

The Bulldogs enter Saturday's game coming off a 17-10 upset road victory over no. 22 Evangel University. The Valor led 10-0 with 10:28 to go in the 3rd quarter. McPherson responded by scoring 17 unanswered points to take the victory. McPherson finished the game with 244 yards of offense, 121 yards passing and 123 yards rushing. The 10 points that Evangel scored are the most that McPherson has allowed this season. 

MC is averaging 450.8 yards of offense per game, 195 yards rushing and 255.8 yards passing. The Bulldogs are scoring 37.8 points per game. McPherson's defense is only allowing 7.8 points per game. Opponents are averaging 256.5 yards per game, 226 yards rushing and 200 yards passing. 

Ryan Markarian leads the team in passing. He is 77-for-117 through the air for 937 yards and six touchdowns. He has also thrown four interceptions. Markarian is averaging 234.3 yards passing per game and is completing 65.8 percent of his passes. 

Jalil Brown is McPherson's leader in rushing with 532 yards. He has eight of the Bulldogs 12 rushing touchdowns and is averaging 133 rushing yards per game. Horace Bradshaw leads MC in receptions with 18. Jalil Brown is also the team's leader in receiving yards with 195. Traven Lewis-Johnson is the team's leader with two touchdown receptions. 

Jonavan Asuncion is the team's leader in tackles with 27. He has one tackle for loss, one interception, and one forced fumble. Gabe Goodnight has 21 tackles and two pass break ups. Kenneth Ray is third on the team in tackles with 19. He has 2.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and one forced fumble.
