OTTAWA, Kan. - The Ottawa men's soccer team played (5) Oklahoma Wesleyan University to a 1-1 tie on Wednesday evening at AdventHealth Field.
Oklahoma Wesleyan struck first, and struck early, as Biel Campo scored in just the second minute of the game. After a plethora of chances, which included two penalty kicks stopped by Oklahoma Wesleyan, Ottawa was finally able to break through in the 87th minute as
Khalil Al Harthi redirected an
Alonso Basauri corner kick into the net for the tying goal.
Ottawa outshot Oklahoma Wesleyan in total shots, 14 to five, as well as shots on goal, six to one.
David Martinez played a complete game in goal for Ottawa.
Ottawa (2-1-5, 1-0-2 KCAC) returns to the field on Saturday, September 27 as they host Tabor College at AdventHealth Field. That game is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 PM.
