Women's Soccer on the Road at (RV) Hastings

OTTAWA, Kan. - The Ottawa women's soccer team leaves Kansas for the first time in 2025 as they travel to (RV) Hastings.
  • The Braves are coming off a 2-2 tie on the road with Baker on Friday evening.
  • In that game, Ottawa scored very early, with Liv Staberg netting a second minute goal. Peyton Hack followed that up with a 19th minute goal, and the Braves took a 2-0 lead into halftime. That lead wouldn't last, however, as Baker scored 58th and 63rd minute goals to come away with a tie.
  • Ottawa has three players with one goal each: Samantha Pruett, Liv Staberg, and Peyton Hack. Riley Smith has the Braves' lone assist.
  • Hastings is 3-1-0 on the season, with a season opener loss to future Ottawa opponent (RV) Kansas Wesleyan, and three wins in a row over Park, Mid-America Christian, and Science & Arts, the latter two receiving votes.
  • Sofia Rabinovitz is Hasting's leading goalscorer with three goals, while Aubrey Yantis leads the Broncos in assists with two.
  • This will be the fifth meeting between Ottawa and Hastings, Ottawa leading the series, 2-1-1.
  • The most recent meeting between the two squads came just last season, with Hastings winning 1-0. That goal came off a 67th minute set piece by Dekota Schubert, giving the Broncos their first ever win over Ottawa.
  • Ottawa is searching for their first non-conference win since August 25, 2021, when they beat Stephens, 4-3.
  • The Braves are searching for their first road non-conference win since their 2020 season opener when they once again beat Stephens in Columbia, 4-1.
  • Ottawa is 3-13-3 when playing in the state of Nebraska. Their last win in the Cornhusker State came on October 9, 2021 at KCAC opponent York, where the Braves won 2-0.
  • The Braves are searching for their first win over a GPAC opponent since September 1, 2018, a 2-1 overtime win over Morningside.
  • The last road win over a GPAC opponent came in 2017 at Briar Cliff by a score of 2-0.
  • The Cottage name is no stranger to Hastings as James Cottage's brother luke is the Co-Head Coach of the Bronco's men's soccer team.
  • This is Ottawa's second game in their non-conference schedule against a ranked or receiving votes opponent.
