Box Score OTTAWA, Kan. — Ottawa University women's basketball held off a late push from Tabor College to secure a 67–61 victory Saturday afternoon at Wilson Field House, snapping a tight contest with a decisive third quarter.
First Quarter
Tabor opened the game with strong play inside, using second-chance points to build an early 10–4 lead. Ottawa responded with timely three-pointers from
Hailey Rademan and
Dominique Schutte, briefly taking its first lead midway through the quarter. The Bluejays closed the opening period on a small run, however, edging the Braves 18–17 after one.
Second Quarter
The second quarter featured back-and-forth action and multiple lead changes. Ottawa leaned on bench production and perimeter shooting, with
Kaelynn Duncan and
Molly Martin knocking down key threes. Late in the half,
McKinley Kruger drained a three-pointer in the final seconds to give Ottawa a 35–33 halftime advantage.
Third Quarter
Ottawa seized control in the third quarter, outscoring Tabor 21–15.
Dominique Schutte sparked the run with aggressive drives to the basket, while
Clare Williams added an and-one to push the lead to double digits. The Braves built their largest advantage of the game at 56–45 heading into the final period.
Fourth Quarter
Tabor made a push early in the fourth, cutting the deficit to just two points following a fast-break layup. Ottawa answered with poise at the free-throw line, as Kruger and Schutte combined to seal the game. The Braves held the Bluejays to 13 points in the quarter to secure the 67–61 win.
