(RV) Women's Lacrosse Beat By Benedictine

OTTAWA, Kan. - The Ottawa women's lacrosse team suffered their second defeat as they were beat 25-1 by (1) Benedictine on Saturday afternoon at AdventHealth Field.

Benedictine came out firing, scoring the first nine goals of the game. Ottawa scored their lone goal with nine seconds left in the first quarter when Makayla Mason intercepted a pass in Benedictine's half and beat the goalkeeper for the goal. Benedictine scored seven goals in the second quarter to lead 16-1 at halftime. Third and fourth quarters of 4-0 and 5-0 brought the win home for the Ravens.

Benedictine led total shots 43 to five and shots on goal 30 to four. Benedictine was 12-14 on clears, Ottawa was 5-16. Benedictine picked up 37 ground balls to Ottawa's 24. The Ravens led draw controls 22 to four. Benedictine was three for five in free position shots, Ottawa did not have a free position attempt.

Makayla Mason led Ottawa with one goal. Saniya Watt made ten saves in goal for Ottawa.

Ottawa (0-2, 0-0 HAAC) returns to the field again on Friday, February 27 as they take on Keiser University in West Palm Beach, Florida as the first leg of a three game trip to the Sunshine State. That game is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM Eastern/4:00 PM Central.
