OTTAWA, Kan. — Ottawa University men's basketball battled throughout but couldn't overcome Friends University's efficiency, as the Falcons pulled away in the second half for a 96–84 decision Friday afternoon inside Wilson Field House.
First Half
Ottawa jumped out early and traded leads multiple times in the opening minutes, with
Micah Willis and
Jackson Harding pacing the Braves offensively. Friends answered behind a hot shooting start from Collin Maclin, who connected from deep and finished strong inside. The Falcons used a late first-half run — fueled by three-point shooting and points in the paint — to stretch the margin. Ottawa closed the half at the line but went into the break trailing 55–41.
Second Half
The Braves showed fight out of the locker room, trimming the deficit with transition buckets and strong work on the offensive glass.
Landyn Tyler and Harding helped Ottawa pull within single digits midway through the half. Each time the Braves threatened, Friends responded, leaning on Maclin's scoring and timely perimeter shots. The Falcons pushed the lead back to double figures in the final minutes and sealed the game at the free-throw line.
