Box Score OTTAWA, Kan. — Ottawa University women's basketball put together a steady four-quarter effort Saturday afternoon, using balance, efficiency at the free-throw line, and timely stops to earn a 72–62 win over (20) Friends University at Wilson Field House. The win was OU's first over a NAIA Top 25 team since Jan. 10, 2018.
First Quarter
Ottawa set the tone early, jumping out to a quick lead behind strong interior play and perimeter shooting. The Braves built as much as a nine-point advantage in the opening frame and took an 18–11 lead after one, holding Friends to 5-of-16 shooting.
Second Quarter
Friends responded with a stronger offensive push, but Ottawa answered each run. The Braves continued to attack the paint and capitalize at the line, maintaining control heading into halftime with a 35–29 advantage.
Third Quarter
The Falcons made their biggest push of the game, tying the contest three times in the quarter. Ottawa stayed composed, getting key baskets from multiple players and closing the period on a late run to regain separation. The Braves carried a 54–47 lead into the final 10 minutes.
Fourth Quarter
Ottawa sealed the win with defensive stops and efficient offense down the stretch. The Braves pushed the lead to as many as 12 points and went a perfect 14-of-15 at the free-throw line for the game, closing out the 72–62 victory.
