WALESKA, Ga. — (20) Ottawa erased a late deficit and delivered in the clutch, scoring four runs over the final two innings and extra frames to secure a 7-5 comeback victory over Reinhardt in 10 innings on Friday afternoon.
How It Happened
Reinhardt struck first with a two-run second inning, but Ottawa answered in the third when
Julius Ryan laced an RBI double to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Eagles extended their lead to 5-2 through six innings, highlighted by a solo home run in the sixth. Ottawa chipped away in the sixth on an RBI single from
Branden Franz but still trailed entering the late innings.
The turning point came in the eighth when
Jose Lopez launched a solo home run to make it 5-3.
In the ninth, the Braves delivered in pressure moments:
- Jeremy Freeman ripped an RBI double to right center
- Kaiden Hoapili followed with a game-tying RBI single
With momentum firmly on their side, Ottawa completed the comeback in the 10th. Freeman lifted a sacrifice fly to give Ottawa its first lead of the game, and an additional run crossed on a defensive miscue to seal the 7-5 advantage.
Ben Hewitt shut the door in the bottom half, striking out two to earn the save.
