OSKALOOSA, Iowa - The Ottawa men's lacrosse team suffered another defeat as they fell at the hands of (5) William Penn by a score of 28-2 on Saturday in Oskaloosa.
The Statesmen showed their might early, outscoring Ottawa 5-1 and 9-0 in the first and second quarters to take a 14-1 halftime lead. William Penn secured their victory with 7-1 and 7-0 third and fourth quarters.
Antonio Bell and
Gavin Smith each scored one goal for Ottawa, Bell and
Jayden Bixler made one assist each.
Dylan Murano made 21 saves in goal for Ottawa.
William Penn led total shots 92 to 11 and shots on goal 49 to eight. William Penn won 28 faceoffs, Ottawa won six. Ottawa was 12 for 31 in clear attempts, William Penn was 12 of 14.
Ottawa (1-7, 0-2 HAAC) returns to the field on Saturday, March 28 as they host William Woods University at AdventHealth Field. That game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM.
