OTTAWA, Kan. – (1) Ottawa University mounted a thrilling fourth-quarter comeback, but a last-second score by (6) Kansas Wesleyan University handed the Braves a narrow 21-20 loss on Tuesday evening at AdventHealth Field.

After a slow start, Ottawa found its rhythm late behind quarterback
Anna Anderson, nearly completing a comeback after trailing 14-0 midway through the third quarter.
Kansas Wesleyan struck first with a long opening drive, converting a one-yard touchdown pass to take a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. The Coyotes added another scoring drive in the third quarter to extend the lead to 14-0.
Ottawa answered late in the third when Anderson powered in from three yards out, cutting the deficit to 14-6.
In the fourth, Anderson connected with
Alyssa Linkous on a 13-yard touchdown pass, and later found
Olga Sotillo for a seven-yard score to give Ottawa its first lead of the game at 20-14 following a successful conversion.
With just seconds remaining, Kansas Wesleyan responded with a final drive, scoring on a four-yard touchdown pass as time expired to reclaim the lead, 21-20.
