Beach Volleyball Battles but Comes Up Short in Home Doubleheader

OTTAWA, Kan. - The Ottawa University beach volleyball team showed fight on their home sand but fell in two matches on Wednesday, dropping a tight 3-2 decision to Wayne State College before a 5-0 loss to Park University.

Match One: Wayne State 3, Ottawa 2
Ottawa opened the day with a gritty performance, pushing Wayne State to the brink in a back-and-forth dual.

The No. 1 pair of Carson Schuman and Hollie Peters delivered one of the highlights of the day, rallying after dropping the first set to win a three-set thriller. Madison Brauner and Bailee Nickel matched that energy at the No. 3 spot, bouncing back after a first-set loss to secure another three-set victory.

Despite the two strong wins, Wayne State edged out the team result by taking courts No. 2, 4, and 5—including a hard-fought three-set battle at No. 5 that ultimately swung the match.
