Men's Lacrosse Defeated By Midland

OTTAWA, Kan. - The Ottawa men's lacrosse team fell once again as they were beat by Midland by a score of 11-3 on Saturday afternoon at AdventHealth Field.

The first goal took over a half a quarter to be scored, but ultimately it would be Midland to not only score it but lead the game 3-0 at the end of the first quarter. After a 3-0 second quarter, the Warriors led 6-0 at halftime. Midland scored the first goal of the third quarter and Ottawa responded with the next two goals to cut the lead to 7-2 going into the final period. There, Midland outscored the Braves four goals to one to solidify their win. 

Ryan Both led Ottawa with two goals, Antonio Bell scored one. Cameron Brown made Ottawa's lone assist. Dylan Murano made 23 saves in goal with a save percentage of .676.

Midland led total shots 71 to 27 and shots on goal 34 to 17. Midland was 22 for 25 in clear attempts, Ottawa was 16 for 27. Ottawa collected 42 ground balls to Midland's 32. Midland won twelve faceoffs, Ottawa won six. Midland was one for five in extra man opportunities, Ottawa was zero for two.

Ottawa (0-4, 0-0 HAAC) returns to the field on Thursday, March 12 as they take on Mount Vernon Nazarene University in a neutral site game at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. That game is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.
