SALINA, Kan. – (2) Ottawa University jumped out early and never fully relinquished control, earning a 27-21 win over (4) Kansas Wesleyan on April 11. With the win, the Braves captured the program's sixth straight KCAC regular season championship. It was also win no. 100 for OU head coach
Liz Sowers. The Braves will now have the no. 1 seed in the KCAC Tournament April 24-25 in Ottawa. The winner of the tournament earns the KCAC's automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament.

Ottawa set the tone from the opening drive, marching 66 yards and finishing with a touchdown pass from
Anna Anderson to
Alyssa Linkous to take a 7-0 lead. Later in the first quarter, Anderson threw a touchdown pass to Tatiana Dos Santos, pushing the Braves ahead 14-0.
Kansas Wesleyan answered late in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 14-6 heading into halftime, but Ottawa's defense consistently forced negative plays and stalled drives throughout the first half.
The Coyotes tied the game in the third quarter, but the Braves responded immediately. Ottawa put together a 66-yard scoring drive capped by another touchdown to regain momentum and extend the lead to 21-14.
Ottawa added another score late in the third to go up 27-14, and despite a late push from Kansas Wesleyan in the fourth quarter, the Braves defense held strong to secure the six-point victory.
