(2) Women's Flag Football Moves Past Graceland, 51-6

OTTAWA, Kan. – (2) Ottawa University put together a dominant performance on both sides of the ball on Saturday morning at AdventHealth Field, defeating Graceland University, 51-6.

How It Happened
First Quarter
Ottawa wasted little time getting on the board. After an early defensive stop and interception, Anna Anderson connected with Tatiana Dos Santos on a 3-yard touchdown pass to give OU a 7-0 lead with 4:24 remaining.

Second Quarter
The Braves offense exploded in the second quarter, scoring 22 points.
  • Anderson and Dos Santos hooked up again before lateraling to Marley Spielberg for a touchdown.
  • After Graceland cut into the lead (14-6), Anderson responded with a 50-yard strike to Jaida Bayron.
  • Just before halftime, Anderson found Alyssa Linkous, who lateraled to Spielberg for another score, sending OU into the break with a 29-6 advantage.
Third Quarter
Ottawa continued to pour it on.
  • Anderson connected with Linkous for an 11-yard touchdown early in the quarter.
  • Later, she found Olga Sotillo for a 29-yard score as the Braves extended the lead to 44-6.
Fourth Quarter
The Braves capped the scoring with another Anderson-to-Sotillo touchdown pass from 17 yards out, sealing the 51-6 victory.

Inside the Numbers Ottawa outgained Graceland 396-211 in total offense and recorded 19 first downs compared to GU's 12.

Defensive Standouts (Flag Pulls) The Braves defense forced three interceptions and held Graceland to just six points, shutting them out in three of the four quarters.
