OTTAWA, Kan. — The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) is proud to announce the 2026 KCAC Football Dr. Ted Kessinger Division Preseason Team, as voted on by the division's head coaches.
Ottawa University and Evangel University both saw 14 student-athletes earn a spot on the Kessinger Division preseason team. The Braves'
De'Anthony Curtis earned honors at three different positions (WR, KR, PR). Kyle Cummings (FB and Utility/All-Purpose) and Broc Lyle (WR and KR) of Evangel University were also honored at multiple positions. Rounding out the preseason team were Bethany College with four honorees, and Bethel College and Tabor College, each with two players honored.
Curtis was in the top five in the Kessinger Division in several receiving categories, ranking fourth in the division in receptions (45), fourth in the division in receiving yards (692), and third in the Kessinger in receiving yards per game (69.2).
Luke Edwards, a quarterback from Overbrook, Kan., was 208-for-356 through the air for 2,552 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2025. He completed 58 percent of his passes and averaged 232 yards passing per game. Edwards rushed for 236 yards on 72 attempts and scored one rushing touchdown.
Anthony Powell, a running back from Celeste, Texas, was named Third Team All-KCAC as a sophomore. He finished the season with 466 rushing yards on 110 attempts, averaging 4.2 yards per carry in 2025. Powell scored five rushing touchdowns and averaged 42.4 rushing yards per game. He had four receptions for 11 yards.
Malakai Hudson, a running back from New Smyrna Beach, Fla., finished the 2025 season with 235 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He averaged 3.4 yards per carry.
Rowdy Keith, a tight end from Murphy, Texas, finished his junior season with 17 receptions for 188 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 18.8 receiving yards per game. Keith had four kick returns for 87 yards with a 64 yard returns. He also had three rushes for 13 yards.
De'Anthony Curtis, a receiver and kick returner from Los Angeles, Calif., had 45 receptions for 692 yards. He scored five touchdowns, four receiving and one rushing. Curtis averaged 69.2 receiving yards per game. Curtis had four punt returns for 40 yards, an average of 10 yards per return.
Jayden Johnson, a redshirt junior from Jenks, Okla., earned Second Team All-KCAC honors. He had 65 receptions for 862 yards and four touchdowns in 2025. Johnson averaged 78.4 receiving yards per game.
Shane Sexton, an offensive lineman from Topeka, Kan., was a starter at center for the Braves in 2025.
Byson Nolan, a defensive lineman from Lee's Summit, Mo., finished 2025 with 40 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks.
Cade Monroe, a linebacker from Mount Vernon, Texas, had 58 tackles, nine tackles for loss, one sack, two pass break ups, and one forced fumble in 2025.
Donovan Martin, a defensive back from Dallas, Texas, earned Second Team All-KCAC honors in 2025. He finished the season with 36 tackles, two tackles for loss, two interceptions, and one forced fumble.
Ethan Yinger, a defensive back from Belton, Mo., finished 2025 with a team high 63 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, five pass break ups, one recovered fumble, and one forced fumble. He was also 1-for-1 in field goal attempts, connected on one from 32 yards.
Elijah Hann, a defensive back from Olathe, Kan., had six tackles and one interception in 2025.
Liam Aldridge, a long snapper from Kansas City, Mo., appeared in all 11 games as a long snapper for the Braves in 2025.
Ike Prengel, a kicker from Topeka, Kan., was named Third Team All-KCAC in 2025. He was 12-for-18 in field goal attempts, with a long of 48. Prengel connected on 67 percent of his field goals. He was 34-for-35 in extra points and led the Braves in scoring with 70 points.
