High School: Dykes lettered in baseball at Atascocita High School. He helped the Eagles to the Texas High School 6A State Finals. Dykes played in the Baseball Factory Preseason All-American Games and the Best in US MLB National Showcase. He was a Texas High School Academic All-State Second Team selection, was twice named to the Baseball Factory Preseason All-American, and was four-times named to the Honor Roll.
