2014: In his third collegiate season, Grimes played in 18 games for the Braves. He scored a career high 11 goals on his way to earning First Team All-KCAC honors. Grimes also had an assist. He finished the season with 23 points, 70 shots with 31 of them on goal and two game winning goals. Grimes had four multi-goal games and had a hat trick against McPherson College (10/11).
2013: In his sophomore season, Grimes played in 16 games with 13 starts for the Braves. He finished the season with four goals, 39 shots with 13 of them on goal, and one game winning goal. Grimes scored his first goal of the season against Central Methodist University (9/18) and earned his first career hat trick versus Southwestern College (10/23).
2012: Grimes appeared in 19 games with 12 starts on his way to earning Second Team All-KCAC honors as a freshman. He scored a team high nine goals and had four assists for 22 points. Grimes tallied 47 shots with 22 of them being on goal and had five game winnings goals. He scored his first collegiate goal against Briar Cliff University (9/3), had his first career multi-goal game against Waldorf College (9/9), and had his first collegiate assist against Rogers State University (9/11). Grimes ended the 2012 season ranked 14th in the NAIA in game winning goals (5), and 19th in game winning goals per game (0.2).
High School: Grimes was a four year letter winner for Amarillo High School (AHS). He was the District Newcomer of the Year, AHS/Happy State Bank Player of the Week, Happy State Bank Player of the Year, and was a two-time First Team All-District and All-Region selection. At AHS, Grimes was three goals away from breaking the single season goals scored record (23) by scoring 20 goals as a junior. He holds the AHS school record for a goal scored in the first 15 seconds of a match from kickoff, most goals in a 12 minute period (3), most goals scored in a game (4), and holds the school record for goals scored in the first 26 minutes of a game (4). In 2011, he was named Offensive MVP for AHS and for his district. As a senior, Grimes helped lead his team to an undefeated regular season and a district championship but due to injury only played in half of the games. As a senior, due to injury, he only played in half of the games scoring 14 goals and tallying seven assists. In 2010, Grimes scored 20 goals and had 13 assists.
