2015: Hughes appeared in 18 games with 13 starts in her first season in an OU uniform. She scored four goals and had eight assists for 16 points. Hughes took 25 shots with 13 of them on goal and had two game winning goals.

Johnson County Community College: Hughes earned two letters in soccer at JCCC. As a sophomore she finished the year with 12 goals and nine assists with 33 points. Hughes had 43 shots on goal and three game winning goals. In her freshman season she had 33 goals and 11 assists with 77 points. Hughes finished with 67 shots on goal, had six game winning goals, and was named NJCAA Player of the Week and Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week twice. She was a two-time First Team All-Jayhawk Conference selection and earned NJCAA All-American honors in 2013. Hughes is ranked third all-time in the JCCC record book in career goals scored (45) and is first in single season hat tricks (5).

High School: At Shawnee Mission North High School, Hughes earned letters in soccer and basketball for the Indians. She was a two-time All-Sunflower League selection in soccer and earned Honorable Mention All-Sunflower League honors on the basketball court.
