High School: Kemp lettered in football, wrestling, and golf at Oak Grove High School. He was a three-time All-Conference offensive lineman and earned academic All-Conference honors as well. Kemp was an All-Conference wrestler for the Panthers, earned All-District honors in football, was a two-time All-Conference selection in golf, and a two-time sectional qualifer in golf.

Personal: Son of Tracy and Mischelle Kemp ... engineering major. Kemp's father Tracy was a two-time First Team All-KCAC selection at offensive line for the Braves, earning NAIA Honorable Mention All-American honors in 1994. His mother, Mischelle (Morrill) was a First Team All-KCAC selection on the softball diamond for the Braves in 1996. She threw the first no hitter in program history on April 20, 1996 vs. Bethany College. Kemp is also a member of the OU football program.
