2021-22: Self earned a finish of first at the USA Powerlifting Missouri State Championship and Open in the 120KG Junior Division and qualified for nationals. He had three personal records at the event, squatting 272.5 KG, benching 195 KG, and deadlifting 275 KG. Competing at the USA Powerlifting National Collegiate, Self placed sixth in the men’s 110KG Equipped Division. He set four new PR marks. Self had a squat of 305KG, a bench of 170KG, and a deadlift of 260KG for a total of 735KG.
2020-21: At the Ottawa Challenge, Self qualified for nationals with his first place finish in the 105kg weight class. He finished the meet with a total of 635kg. Self had a personal best mark in both squat (245kg) and bench (175kg). He finished with a mark of 215kg on deadlift. At the USA Powerlifting Collegiate Nationals, Self set three new PRs. He squatted 24kg for a 7.5kg PR, benched 170kg, and deadlifted 245kg for a 30kg PR. He set a 20kg total PR of 660kg.
2019-20: Self finished first in the 105 kilo teen division at the USAPL Kansas State Championships. He finished the day with a total of 640 kilograms which is a 15 kilogram PR. Self had PRs in squat, bench, and deadlift. He went 8-for-9 on attempts. He received the award for Best Lifter in the teen division and qualified for the USAPL Collegiate National Championships. Self set a new Kansas State record in bench with 167.5kg at the Central Collegiate Cup. He finished with a total of 512.5 to earn first place.
2018-19: Self, competing at the Warrior Classic, placed second with a total of 607.5 kilograms in the 106 kilogram weight class.
High School: Self has four state powerlifting records. He is the eighth strongest teen in the nation and has the highest bench in the nation in the Raw 93kg Class.
Personal: Son Brian and Michelle Self ... undecided on a major. He competed in USPIA under head coach Ryan Baylark.
