Biography

2020-21: In his Covid-shortened junior season, Freed bowled 33 games in 8 events, all Tier 2. He finished with a pin total of 6918 for a 209.64 average, a career high. His average difference between himself and the field was 28.76 pins per game.

Freed won the Jayhawk Collegiate Classic II with a 220.5 average over four games, 882 pins total. The next time out, at the Leatherneck Classic, he set a career high 237.167 average over six games in a runner-up performance. He ended the season with one win, three top five finishes and four events in the top 10.

Freed was named an NAIA All-American, the first Braves men’s bowler to earn the honor. He was also named Unaffiliated Conference Bowler of the Year and Unaffiliated All-Conference First Team.

2019-20: As a sophomore, Freed played in 60 games, 30 Tier 1 Event games and 30 Tier 2 Event games. He had a pin total of 11316 and a 188.6 average. In Tier 1 Event games, Freed finished with a pin total of 5694 and a 189.8 average. He had a pin total of 5622 and a 187.4 average in Tier 2 Event games. Freed had a career high 1424 pin total and a season high 203.4 average at the Andy B’s Team Challenge. He was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Andy B’s Team Challenge.

2018-19: Freed played in 29 games as a freshman. He appeared in 14 Tier 1 and 15 Tier 2 games. Freed had a 5229 pin total and a 180.310 average. He finished the season with a season high 1169 pin total at the Jayhawk Challenge and a career high 222.5 average at the Midwest Collegiate.

High School: Freed was a four-time letterman in soccer, bowling, and band for Topeka West High School. He earned three letters in baseball for the Chargers. Jared helped the Chargers to a second place finish at the Kansas State Bowling Tournament. He also helped Topeka West to two Regional Championships and he earned an individual regional championship. Jared was part of the Chargers Centennial League Championship in 2016-17 and was a two-time Second Team All-City selection. On the soccer field, he was an Honorable Mention All-City selection.
