2022-23: Schmelzer placed 14^th at the Coastal Collegiate Classic with a three round score of 337. Earned a finish of 11^th at the Ottawa Fall Invitational, shooting a 100 on day one and a 94 on day two. Schmelzer finished the Ottawa Spring Invitational in 30^th with a score of 189 (96-93). Shot a 110 on day one and a 108 on day two of the Tussle at Tanglewood to place 46^th. Schmelzer finished 25^th at the Bethany College Classic with a score of 208.

2021-22: Schmelzer competed in seven tournaments as a freshman for the Braves. Schmelzer earned 33^rd overall at the OU Fall Invitational with a combined score of 240. At the KC Cup, Schmelzer finished 43^rd overall with a score of 215. Schmelzer placed 29^th at the Tabor College Invite with a score of 216. Schmelzer finished in 35^th at the Ron Streck Invitational with a combined score of 201. Schmelzer rounded out the season with a 46^th place finish at the Park Invitational, 40^th place at the Bethany College Classic and 41^st at the KCAC Championships.

High School: Schmelzer lettered in golf at Baxter Springs High School. She was a three-time KSHSAA Golf State Tournament participant and a 2020 state individual medalist. Schmelzer was a member of the BHS scholar bowl team, the National Honor Society, and the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She participated in musical theater at BHS and participated in the Cherokee County Arts Association.
